Government response to the Aotearoa Youth Declaration 2015

The New Zealand Government response to the Aotearoa Youth Declaration 2015 was published today to celebrate the United Nations International Youth Day. With the theme of ‘Youth Civic Engagement’, it’s the perfect day for decision-makers to engage with young people by responding to recommendations outlined in the Aotearoa Youth Declaration 2015.

This document provides information on what the Government is doing, or looking to do, in response to 102 public policy recommendations developed by young people. Around 200 secondary school students from all over New Zealand developed the recommendations in April this year, at UN Youth New Zealand’s annual Aotearoa Youth Declaration conference.
