Violence and young people
On 28 February 2008, the Ministry of Youth Development hosted a seminar by Terry Fleming on 'Violence and Young People'.
This seminar provided an overview of findings from the Youth2000
Adolescent Health Survey related to young peoples experience
of violence and associated difficulties. Please see link.
Terry (Theresa) Fleming is a youth health specialist social worker with
a background in service development and delivery with young people in
South Auckland.
She is a youth social worker at Whirinaki - Counties Manukau Community
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and teaches Youth Health at
the University of Auckland. Please see link.
Terry is member of the University of Auckland Adolescent Health
Research Group (Youth2000 and Youth2007 New Zealand adolescent health
surveys) and has recently published a report on Young People in New Zealand and Violence (www.youth2000.ac.nz).
