Best practice
Best practice
The Ministry of Youth Development is committed to the principle of best practice in the youth sector. Youth development best practice by its very nature is constantly evolving.
Best
practice is about sharing approaches, strategies and methods of working
with young people that have been acknowledged as being examples of
current best practice.
Young people are dynamic. Their lives,
their influences and their circumstances change. Fashion, youth
culture, global influences and technology also shapes their actions and
expectations.
The lessons learned from people who work with
young people are that they need to constantly change programmes to make
them more appealing, challenging and useful for young people.
Good
processes for documenting, exploring and evaluating youth development
opportunities, approaches and programmes are critical to building an
evidence base.
