An issue I feel strongly about:

One of the issues that I am personally very concerned about is the driving age and how it affects young New Zealanders. I believe that 15 is too young to be driving unaccompanied, and the increasing number of accidents on New Zealand’s roads reflect this.  I was surprised to learn that many young people support this perspective, suggesting ideas such as raising the learner licence age to at least 16, enforcing compulsory driving lessons and defensive driving courses and creating stricter licence tests that really test the ability of the driver, not just their knowledge of the road rules. With New Zealand’s liberal and social drinking culture, we cannot afford to put our youth at an unnecessary risk.
