New Zealand Business and Parliament Trust Essay Competition
For Youth Parliament 2007, the New Zealand Business and Parliament Trust (NZBPT) has again funded an essay competition with a first prize of $2000 and two runner-up prizes of $1000 each. The winners of the competition have been announced and you can view their essays below.
The competition was open to all youth participants (Youth MPs and Youth
Press Gallery members) who attended Youth Parliament 2007.
Entrants were asked to submit an essay of no more than 800 words
about their experience at Youth Parliament 2007, particularly
what they learnt from that experience and took back to their
communities.
Competition winners
The judges all commented on the high standard of the entries, with a record number received for this competition.
The high standard has been reinforced by the fact that there are two
co-winners for this year’s competition, with only one point separating
the runner-up from the two first-place winners.
The Trust extends its thanks to all of those who entered the competition and congratulates the prize winners.
The prize winners of the New Zealand Business & Parliament Trust 2007 Youth Parliament 2007 Essay Competition are:
Joint Winners ($2000 cash prize each)
- Luke Craven of Tauranga, nominated as Youth MP by Rt Hon Winston Peters MP; and
- Anna Meikle of Te Kuiti, nominated as Youth MP by Shane Ardern MP.
