Palmerston North City Council - Digital Photo mash-up competition

The Basement's digital mash-up is open to any member of the Palmerston North City Library, aged 13 to 18. The competition has a theme of relationships, so get your digital photos of family and friends and enter online. Competition closes 22 May 2009. Click here for more information.

Wanganui District Council - Picnic in the park

Up to 800 people attended a Picnic in the Park on Saturday December 6, co-ordinated and run by a Youth Committee group.

Picnic in the Park was organised to promote a family-friendly Wanganui and to support the Whanganui Violence Intervention Network campaign.

Upper Hutt - Urban Unity

Urban Unity is a youth-focused programme designed to provide young people with the opportunity to be involved and attend events, participate in workshops, interact with peers in a supportive environment and to have a great time in Upper Hutt.

Urban Unity Events Squad held a dance party on the last day of term called “Stomp 2 Da Max”.  Read more about Urban Unity here.

Stratford District Council - Duck race

In December the Stratford District Youth Council held a duck race down the Patea River in Stratford.

The Youth Council worked hard to gathering sponsors for the ducks, with the adoptive parents able to name their duck and choose a lucky number.
