“Safer Journeys – Road Safety Strategy 2020: tell us what you think”
The Ministry of Transport wanted to know how to make our roads safer and were keen to let the youth of New Zealand have their say. To make sure young people had their say, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Youth Development developed a youth friendly survey document.
This was a shorter version of the Ministry of Transport’s Safer Journeys – Road Safety Strategy 2020 document (the full document had over 60 initiatives/ideas on  how to create safer roads and cars, making children’s car seats safer, plus loads more!).

This survey closed on 2 October 2009 and the youth friendly final report of the consultations findings can be found below.

The government intends to release the final road safety strategy - Safer Journeys - in December 2009.
