National Student Decision Makers Network
If you are a student trustee, on a student council or something similar then the National Student Decision Makers Network is for you!
This network has been established to provide a nationwide system of communication and support to student decision makers across New Zealand.
It will offer you an excellent opportunity to:
- network nationwide with other student trustees, student councils and similar groups in schools
- develop a national identity and purpose
- tell government what young people think from their region
- further develop effectiveness in their roles as decision makers (student trustees) and decision making bodies (student councils).
You will be able to access:
- training on youth participation in decision making
- practical advice and tips specific to student trustee and student council needs
- information on important youth issues and opportunities.
The National Steering Committee has been elected and we have seven new members who are either student trustees or on a student council from across New Zealand. The new members are:
- Chelsea Tevaga from Auckland (Student Trustee)
- Sarah Zellman from Auckland (Student Trustee)
- Jordan Anderson from Napier (Student Trustee)
- JJ Hong from Nelson (Student Trustee)
- Josh Toohey from Christchurch (Student Council)
- Tamsin Robb from New Plymouth (Student Council)
- Daniel McGregor from Hamilton (Student Council)
The National Committee will be posted information soon about what they hope to achieve with the network over the next year. Watch this space!
